Jamu refers to an Indonesian traditional medicine system. It is a herbal remedy primarily composed of roots, bark, flowers, seeds, leaves, and fruits. Animal-based ingredients, like honey, royal jelly, milk, and chicken eggs, are also often used.
Jamu can be found all over Indonesia, but is most prevalent in Java. “Mbok Jamu” refers to a young to middle-aged Javanese woman wearing the traditional “Kain Kebaya” and carrying a bamboo basket full of bottles of jamu while walking through the alleyways of villages and cities.
Jamu went through a period of decline when people began to recognize modern medicine and certified medicine campaigns emerged. Traditional ways of making herbal medicine have been replaced by new methods that use different certified, standardized, and certified preparations.
In reality, the abundance of biodiversity in the Indonesian archipelago has not been bolstered by a strong political will. As a result, the existing potential has yet to be realized as a global competitive advantage.

By holding a SINACON, it is hoped that it will be able to position itself to support the growth of international branding, thereby increasing the value of herbal or herbal products in Indonesia during the 4.0 Industrial Revolution. SINACON also wants to be a place where the latest research results, technological advances, and practical applications in fields related to the development of food and natural resources for the promotion of herbal and pharmaceutical products can be talked about and shared.
